You Don't Have to Be the Only One Who Can Touch Your Website

Somebody eventually asks you for it. A new hire who's supposed to post updates, a friend helping out on the weekends, a bookkeeper who just needs to change the hours on the contact page. And you hesitate, because right now the only way to get them access looks like handing over your actual login: the same one tied to your billing, your domain, everything.

Cantrip has a real answer for this, and it's been sitting in Account settings the whole time: Team. You invite someone by email, pick a role, and they get exactly that much access. Nothing more.

There are three roles you can actually assign. Admin gets close to full access, everything except billing and deleting the team itself, and can invite or manage other members. Manager can create and manage websites, tweak settings, install plugins, edit content: basically running the show without touching the money. Editor is the narrowest, and probably the one you'll use most: they can edit existing pages, posts, branding, and media, but they can't spin up a new website or change account-level settings. Hand a part-time content person Editor access and they can fix a typo or swap a photo without ever seeing your Stripe dashboard.

Only you, the owner, can promote someone all the way to Admin. That one's locked down on purpose.

The part that stood out once I actually looked at how it's built: there's no seat limit. Invite two people or twenty, and Team access doesn't care. It's not metered per head the way a lot of collaboration tools end up feeling.

Worth saying plainly: Team access isn't part of the free tier. It's gated to accounts with an active subscription. So if you're still on a free website, this is a reason to actually upgrade, not something you're missing out on for no reason.

And whoever you invite doesn't need a Cantrip account already. The invite goes to their email. If they've never signed up, the link lets them set a password right there and land straight in your team. No separate onboarding step, no "make an account first, then I'll add you."

You built the website. That doesn't mean you have to be the only one allowed to fix it when the phone number changes.
